The Shake Up – University of Tasmania

In 2022, the University of Tasmania’s proposed move into Hobart’s city become a great source of public debate. In partnership with Tasmanian creative agency The 20, we created an environment that facilitated a deep, honest, two-way conversation between the community and the University called The Shake Up.

The Shake Up - University of Tasmania

Held over a series of sessions, UPRS facilitate a community panel of 80 people that provided an opportunity to have a real say on the direction of the city move and meaningful input into what the new buildings will look and feel like, and what sort of culture the Uni could have.

The Shake Up brand was also shared with the panel as well as the broader community, inviting them to work with the University and other stakeholders to make sure Hobart was properly represented in all its diversity.

A six-month process of consultation followed which generated rigorous, robust and open conversations, as well as a wealth of ideas that captured the passion of the community, which was shared with key decision makers at the University, and is actively shaping the University’s future campus master planning.
